Four Schools Partnership

KESKOWETHYANS MULTI ACADEMY TRUST

In September 2011, four small primary schools on the Lizard peninsular Coverack, Grade-Ruan, Manaccan and St Keverne
took the very bold decision to work in partnership under the direction of  one Headteacher Tom Harman.
This partnership is known as KESKOWETHYANS.

In April 2013, St Martin School joined the Keskowethyans partnership.

Following an extensive period of consultation the Governing Bodies of the respective schools agreed to convert
to academy status on 1st March 2014.

Mrs Pam Miller, Chair of the Board of Directors said: "It is an exciting time for our five schools, bringing with it the freedoms and flexibilities
of academy status which will, in addition to many new opportunities, enable us to fufil our shared vision of maintaining our schools in
communities, each with its own ethos and identity."

Although the schools already shared resources, by becoming a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) they now receive funding directly from
central government rather than Cornwall Council and will be able to decide how to use the money, as well as set their own curricula.
